you fancy a ride on this beautifully restored relic then read on. This
heritage train made its maiden journey in 1885 after about 20 years it was
made to retire and later made an exhibit in the National Rail Museum, in
1997 it was given an overhaul and made ready for the tracks once again. As

A Peek into the Lifestyle of the Maharajas
A right royal train, it allows the voyager a peek into the opulent
lifestyle of the Maharajas of yore. Its run from New Delhi to Alwar has
been planned with much consideration. The journey starts in Delhi with a
traditional welcome for the guests. A round of introductions later the
train leaves the Delhi cantonment station at ten in the morning. Delicious
snacks are served half an hour later and as always food is a great way to
disturb the silence and get people chatting. This fully air conditioned
luxury coach is famous for its large glass windows that allow one to enjoy
the sights of the countryside as it rolls by. The colours and landscape
change as the train leaves the plains of Delhi and moves into the arid
rocky land closer to the Thar desert. A lip smacking authentic Rajasthani
lunch later the train reaches Alwar. Here the passengers alight and are
transported comfortably to the lush wilderness of the wildlife sanctuary
at Sariska. After being ensconced at the luxury hotel here its time for a
sumptuous dinner and a cultural gala, the best of Rajasthan's folk music
and dance captivates and invites the guests to join in and learn a move or
two.
