About the Fairy Queen Train
The Fairy queenThe Fairy Queen train is the oldest working steam locomotive in the world. If you fancy a ride on this beautifully restored relic then read on. As the oldest working locomotive anywhere in the world it also has the distinction of being mentioned in the Guinness Book of World Records. It is one of the four most famous heritage trains of India along with the Palace On Wheels and the Deccan Odyssey.

A Peek into the Lifestyle of the Maharajas
A right royal train, it allows the voyager a peek into the opulent lifestyle of the Maharajas of yore. Its run from New Delhi to Alwar has been planned with much consideration. The journey starts in Delhi with a traditional welcome for the guests. A round of introductions later the train leaves the Delhi cantonment station at ten in the morning. Delicious snacks are served half an hour later and as always food is a great way to disturb the silence and get people chatting. This fully air conditioned luxury coach is famous for its large glass windows that allow one to enjoy the sights of the countryside as it rolls by. The colours and landscape change as the train leaves the plains of Delhi and moves into the arid rocky land closer to the Thar desert. A lip smacking authentic Rajasthani lunch later the train reaches Alwar. Here the passengers alight and are transported comfortably to the lush wilderness of the wildlife sanctuary at Sariska. After being ensconced at the luxury hotel here its time for a sumptuous dinner and a cultural gala, the best of Rajasthan's folk music and dance captivates and invites the guests to join in and learn a move or two.

Sights Continue to Thrill
Next morning sees a bright and early start when a jeep safari takes the guests on a thrilling tiger chase, on route they get to spot many of the Sambar, Chausingha, Nilgai, Chital, Wild Boar, Langurs , Rhesus Monkeys, Leopards, Hyenas, Civets, Indian Hare, the Grey Mongoose and Palm Squirrels that its famous for. Amidst the forests of Sariska stands its imposing fort, a quaint little temple and many picturesque watering holes. The guests leave Sariska behind at twelve noon the same day and return to the luxurious confines of the Fairy Queen. Lunch and refreshments are provided on board and the undulating countryside offers many magnificent vistas making the journey a truly memorable one.
